Nature Tech and Innovation as Instruments for Derisking Investment for Adaptation and Nature_

BLUE ZONE

This session, co-organized by the IDB Group and C Minds’ initiative NaturaTech LAC, will bring together leaders from finance, policy, technology, and security to explore how innovation can serve as a powerful instrument to derisk investment in adaptation action, biodiversity, and bioeconomies in Latin America and the Caribbean. The conversation will highlight how innovation in governance, incentive design, blended finance, and shared metrics can derisk global partnerships; how territory-based strategies that strengthen ecological resilience and community stewardship, together with security, derisk long-term investment; and how technology and data systems can derisk decision-making by improving traceability, transparency, and credibility. This session is framed around IDB Lab´s derisking financial instruments and NaturaTech Studio's aim to co-enable the creation of a robust pipeline of investable, nature-positive solutions that reframe biodiversity not as a risk, but as a core driver of resilience, prosperity, and scalable impact.

CEIBA: Innovation and Investment for Biodiversity and Natural Capital in Latin America and the Caribbean_

A curated gathering of multisector and multicultural regenerative leaders over morning coffee. Request an invitation.

GREEN ZONE

Coordinated by the IDB Group and C Minds through the NaturaTech LAC initiative, this session will present the CEIBA Network - a multisectoral, intergenerational platform that integrates diverse knowledge systems to accelerate innovation and investment for biodiversity and natural capital in Latin America and the Caribbean. Launched during the first Global Biodiversity Week in Cali, Colombia, the CEIBA Council gathered a highly curated list of intersectoral 100 leaders from across the region to reimagine regenerative futures. Representatives from businesses, corporations, alliances, development banks, civil society, research centers, and Indigenous, Afro-descendant, local, and rural communities came together with a shared purpose: to weave connections, lay the foundations for a collective vision for protecting biodiversity and natural capital while driving principle-based innovation and resilient economic models. At COP30, the spotlight turns to the presentation of the CEIBA Network, an open community of practice that invites everyone working on innovation and investment for biodiversity and natural capital to join, share knowledge, and scale possibilities. Together, the CEIBA High Level Council and the Network form a living architecture for collaboration, where ideas and actions converge to catalyze a transition towards nature-positive and resilient economies, with Latin America and the Caribbean as a powerhouse for this global transition. In the first part of this session, we will share what CEIBA represents and its Council, the opportunities it opens for regional collaboration, and how it can help bridge sectors, cultures, and generations. Anchored in the momentum of COP30, the conversation will also showcase transformative, community-rooted solutions from biocultural territories, pioneering finance mechanisms, and purpose-driven technologies that accelerate adaptation, restoration, and shared prosperity for a resilient future. The session will conclude with a networking space, co-hosted by a group of CEIBA Council members, allowing attendees to establish valuable connections in line with NaturaTech LAC and CEIBA’s ethos of multicultural and multisector communities of peers. More than an event, this process becomes a space to present an invitation from CEIBA: to consolidate a regional community of practice to amplify leadership, elevate scalable and investable models, and position Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) as a global epicenter for nature-positive and development rooted in resiliency and shared prosperity.

Dialogue and Presentations

AI for Biodiversity and New Codes for the Bioeconomy_

NaturaTech LAC will bring together frontier voices to explore how AI, when rooted in context and responsibility, and biocultural collaborations are becoming transformative tools and approaches for scaling nature-positive impact and driving economic code that is resilient and centered in the well-being of the communities. Anchored by Indigenous perspectives and centering innovation on data sovereignty, FPIC in business, and nature-related financial benefits, the session will spotlight a bio-entrepreneur harnessing AI for regenerative agriculture, an ecosystem and finance expert enabling access to AI tools for a scaled bioeconomy in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as a global ecosystem support expert in this field. A closing dialogue on transitioning to nature-positive markets will weave these perspectives: harnessing AI and multisector collaborations through a biocultural lens, not as ends in themselves, but as catalysts to expand access, amplify impact, accelerate systemic change, and place biodiversity at the core of global prosperity.

Nature Tech and Innovation as Instruments for Derisking Investment for Adaptation and Nature_

BLUE ZONE

This session, co-organized by the IDB Group, C Minds’ NaturaTech LAC initiative, and in alliance with Vital Oceans, will showcase high-impact solutions for river and coastal communities as they adapt to climate risks through ecosystem restoration, nature-based livelihoods, and biocultural resilience. Moreover, it explores the opportunities for innovation to drive sustainable blue economies as drivers of approaches where marine conservation and local economic prosperity go hand in hand.
